Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP offers a range of working hours for its legal secretarial staff including daytime, evening and midnight shifts and has a variety of support services departments including Accounting, Corporate Services, Human Resources, Information Technology, Kitchen Services, Library Services, Mail Room, Marketing & Business Development, Office Services, Professional Development, Switchboard/Reception and Records.

Upon commencing employment, all staff participate in an extensive orientation session combined with relevant training and integration initiatives. Our legal secretaries participate in a comprehensive two week training program which provides them with a strong overview of our technical applications and document standards.

Accounting Clerk
Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP an integrated firm of more than 250 lawyers with offices in Toronto, Montréal, New York and an affiliate in Paris. The firm is focused on business law and is consistently at the heart of the largest and most complex commercial and financial matters on behalf of its clients, regardless of borders market leader in its core practice areas.

Our Toronto office is currently seeking an Accounting Clerk to join its busy Accounting Department. Responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to, running billing summaries and various billing reports, transferring dockets and disbursements between files, preparing accounts in Word, preparing Excel spreadsheets of dockets for accounts, running various Accounts Receivable reports and preparing Accounts Receivable schedules in Excel, preparing reminder letters, assisting with Quarterly Reserves Exercise, including preparing Accounts Receivable and WIP schedules. This role will also assist with special projects and provide back-up to various members of the accounting department when required.

Qualified candidates will have an accounting diploma, a minimum of 2+ years previous experience in a busy accounting role, excellent organizational skills and interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will also possess a strong aptitude for numbers, be accurate and detail orientated, excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to work well both independently and in a team setting. Knowledge of CMS accounting system is a definite asset but not required. Previous law firm or professional services experience is a definite asset.

Director, Knowledge Management
Davies Ward Phillips & Vineberg LLP is an integrated firm of more than 250 lawyers with offices in Toronto, Montréal, New York and an affiliate in Paris. The firm is focused on business law and is consistently at the heart of the largest and most complex commercial and financial matters on behalf of its clients, regardless of borders.

We are looking for a Director of Knowledge Management to oversee and manage the knowledge management initiatives of the Toronto office and play a leading role in shaping our firmwide knowledge management strategy.

In this important role, you will oversee existing collections of precedents and research materials and develop new tools and initiatives for the continuous improvement of our knowledge management resources.  Davies takes a collaborative approach to knowledge management.  In this position, you will work closely with lawyers in all practice groups, with emphasis on the corporate practice group, and interact regularly with members of our Montréal and New York offices.
