Sébastien Savage is a partner specializing in corporate and commercial law. He has represented a number of corporations of all sizes in a broad range of domestic, cross-border and international transactions, focusing on corporate acquisitions and sales, mergers and other business combinations, private equity investments, infrastructure and real estate.

Sébastien acted as primary advisor or played a key role in several complex and multi-jurisdictional transactions, including acting for: AbitibiBowater in the sale of its Snowflake, Arizona mill; GDF Suez in respect of a $2.7 billion liquefied natural gas project (Rabaska); a US based private equity firm and two major Canadian pension funds in the acquisition, management and sale of a portfolio of tier one hotel and resort properties in North America; a consortium bidding on the new $266 million concert hall project for the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal (OSM); a consortium bidding on the new $850 million Centre hospitalier de l'Université de Montréal (CHUM) project; Abitibi-Consolidated (now AbitibiBowater) in the sale of its 50% share ownership in PanAsia Paper Company Pte Ltd. to Norske Skogindustrier ASA; the consortium selected as preferred proponent on the Port of Miami Tunnel project (Florida); and Axima Services, an affiliate of SUEZ Energie Services, in connection with a 20-year contract valued at CDN$142 million awarded to Axima Services to provide baggage handling services at Trudeau International Airport.

Sébastien is the co-author of two articles on Bill 17, An Act respecting contracting by public bodies.

Sébastien is a member of the firm’s Corporate/Commercial, Infrastructure, Securities and Real Estate and Secured Lending Practice Groups. Sébastien created and leads the Montréal office Green Committee and is also a member of the firm’s China Practice Group Business Development Committee, Client-Relationship Committee and Student Recruiting Committee. Sébastien is a member of the American Bar Association and is active in many of its International Law Section Committees. He is also a member of the Canadian Bar Association and the Canadian Corporate Counsel Association.

Sébastien is a director and officer of Projet Porte Parole, a non-profit bilingual theatre company.

Sébastien received his law degree from the Université de Montréal in 1997, having also studied at Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto for one semester. He was called to the Quebec Bar in 1998 and became a partner of the firm in 2002.

Sébastien is fluent in both English and French.
